MEC Cooperation with Dienste für Menschen
On Sunday May 27 NEC hosted in church two groups of visitors from Germany. Anselm Kreh, who was a coworker at the Schneller School some years ago, brought a group of 19 people from churches in the diocese of Württemberg on a tour of Lebanon. In church Anselm and other members of the group shared some meditations, piano music and prayers. The second group was made up of two people from the organization Dienste für Menschen (DfM), one of the largest ministries for elderly people belonging to the Church of Württemberg. Mr. Frank El-Banani and Ms Christina Kuhn were guests of Moadieh Evangelical Center (MEC) from 25 to 29 May. In Church Mr El-Banani greeted our congregation in the name of his organization. On Monday 28 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by MEC and DfM to promote future cooperation between the two ministries for elderly people.
Mienste für Menschen aims for comprehensive care, assisted living, sustainability and spiritual welfare. They have in total 21 facilities in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Saxony. In our Moadieh Evangelical Center we always aim to serve better.

On Sunday September 23 the delegation participated in our worship service. Bishop July preached the sermon. Rev. Marianne Wagner, the president of EMS and a member of the neighboring Church of the Palatinate, also shared with Rev. Badr in the pastoral prayers. Mrs. Inge Schneider, president of the Württemberg Synod, gave a word of greeting.
Additionally, 6 pastors from Germany and one from Scotland (Susanne Gessuer, Elke Jung, Renate Kath, Annette Hermann, Claudia Ginkel, Volker Bleil, all German and Pamela Strachan from the Presbyterian Church of Scotland) who are spending a 3-month sabbatical at NEST, joined the worship service.
