The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) will host a conference in Amman, Jordan to commemorate the 500 years' anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
Rev. Habib Badr and Dr. George Sabra from our church will participate in that conference between 26-28th of Sep. 2017. Many students from the Near East School of Theology (NEST) with former NEST students will participate too in the conference.
The title of the conference:
THE EVANGELICAL REFORMATION AND THE MIDDLE EAST: THE WAY FORWARD
And will address four points:
1. To celebrate the contributions of the evangelical movement in the Middle East.
2. To discuss the future of the evangelical churches in the Middle East.
3. To deepen the fellowship and cooperation between the members of the Fellowship of Middle East Evangelical Churches.
4. Give an evangelical voice to the Arab societies today with the regards the challenges faced today.

24 teenagers spent five days at Schneller worshiping, discussing, painting walls, building karts, kayaking, and have loads of fun. The tile of the camp was:
Created by God, Built for a Purpose.

Living God, Renew and Transform Us: WCRC at Leipzig

Rev. Habib Badr participated in the General Council of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) at Leipzig, Germany, from 29th of June till 7th of July 2017. Hundreds of people form different Reformed churches around the world came together to meet and reflect on the Word of God. New members of the Council will also be elected during the meeting.
The theme of the conference is: "Living God, renew and transform us". The meetings will be held in Leipzig, Wittenberg and Berlin, as the 500th anniversary of Reformation is being celebrated in Germany.
Later in the meetings, Rev. Najla Kassab was elected as president of the WCRC for seven years, and a new Executive Committee was installed. The World Communion of Reformed Churches represents more than 80 million Reformed Christians worldwide including the Middle East, more than 225 churches in over 110 countries. Its headquarters are in Hannover, Germany.
