Sunday School

Sunday School is the place where children between the ages three and thirteen can learn about Christian life. They learn Bible stories that cover most of the Old and New Testaments, they are taught how to pray, and how to think of God.

The children gather in a big hall on Sunday Morning where they can worship God together for half an hour. They are taught beautiful hymns by Mrs. Lydia  Sabra and are led in prayer by Mrs. Samia Boulad and Maha Moadieh. During that time the children offer money that they collect for charity purposes that they pick together with their teachers every year. They have already sponsored a child in SOS Village for the Orphans, donated money for a chronically sick girl and offered bed covers for the Schneller School boarding students, etc.

After worshiping together the Children are divided into four groups. In their groups they are taught the marvelous stories and teachings of the Bible and how to apply them in their own world. They often do crafts and sing songs and play games connected to their topic.

Ages between three and five join Ms. Maha Moadieh for some fun time in the Bible world.

Ages between six and eight are in the class of Ms Aida Tahhan who teaches them alternatively.

Ages between nine and eleven are care for by Ms. Soad Rahhal and some members of the Youth group. In this class more reflection can be made.

Finally ages twelve and thirteen are in small groups of discussion with Ms. Samia Boulad who leads them through their last journey in Sunday School and prepares them for Church life.

In addition to the regular Sunday classes the children often have other activities fit for the season. They celebrate Christmas every year by presenting Carols and small plays in the Church sanctuary. They celebrate their mothers on Mothers’ Day by presenting songs and offering a buffet of joy. They participate in the Palm Sunday celebration and parade in and out of the Church by carrying palm branches and candles
