The Helping Hand held its monthly meeting in Charles Saad hall on Fri. 27th of April at 3:30 pm. The guest speaker was Dr. George Freiha, the former director of OCP of the American University of Beirut. He was asked to talk about the late Dr.Anise Freiha, a member of our church, who was a linguist, a writer and a university professor. Anise Freiha was known for his love for the Lebanese village and wrote about it and it's traditions so that it doesn't fade away. He left to the Arabic reader so many books the most famous is اسمع يا رضا.
Trip to Chouf - Lebanon

The Helping Hand Association organized a trip to the Shouf area on Sat. May 19th. The trip started in Deir el Qamar - the Hill of the Cross then going to Al Mukhtara palace where the group was received with a warm welcome- thanks to Walid Beik and Mrs.Noura Jumblat. The group proceeded to Baakline where we visited the Hamadeh palace and from there to Al Warhanieh to meet the Assaf brothers in their beautiful atelier ending the trip in Diwan Alfara7 restaurant.
MEC Cooperation with Dienste für Menschen

On Sunday May 27 NEC hosted in church two groups of visitors from Germany. Anselm Kreh, who was a coworker at the Schneller School some years ago, brought a group of 19 people from churches in the diocese of Württemberg on a tour of Lebanon. In church Anselm and other members of the group shared some meditations, piano music and prayers. The second group was made up of two people from the organization Dienste für Menschen (DfM), one of the largest ministries for elderly people belonging to the Church of Württemberg. Mr. Frank El-Banani and Ms Christina Kuhn were guests of Moadieh Evangelical Center (MEC) from 25 to 29 May. In Church Mr El-Banani greeted our congregation in the name of his organization. On Monday 28 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by MEC and DfM to promote future cooperation between the two ministries for elderly people.
Mienste für Menschen aims for comprehensive care, assisted living, sustainability and spiritual welfare. They have in total 21 facilities in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Saxony. In our Moadieh Evangelical Center we always aim to serve better.
